CTS # 96

Hello everybody and as early happy Thanksgiving to all Canadians!

I'm playing along with the new sketch at Case this Sketch today - #96!

I started out with something totally different in mind, but you know how it goes... Sometimes the cards just make themselves.

I've used two different shades of blue cardstock, some white cardstock and a balloon punch. I stamped my sentiment in black and doodled some string for each balloon. It turned out pretty cute, don't you think?

Thanks for stopping by, see you soon!

Case this sketch #93

I've done it again! I played along in this week's sketch over at CTS - #93.

I've used some washi tape, a doily stamp, a cork sticker and some sequins. I really like the feel of the sequins on this card.

Hop on over to CTS and join in the fun!

CTS #85

There's another sketch out over at CAS(E) this Sketch! and I'm playing along.

I stamped my swirls with Distress Ink Salty Ocean and stuck a wood veneer butterfly in the middle. Easy peasy. For a little extra flair, I splashed some pearl maker around the butterfly.

Thanks for stopping by, see you soon!

Rosa grattis

CTS #46

I'm back with another CAS card. This one is so CAS that I don't really know how I pulled it off... ;)

I made a turquoise splash with my Distress Stain Peacock Feather and then stamped the sentiment from one of Tim Holtz's Stamper's Anonymous sets with Walnut Stain. As a final touch, I added three rhinestones. Done!

This is the sketch for this week over at Case This Sketch. Isn't it fun? You still have a few hours before time is up to play along, so go get your craft on!

Thanks for stopping by, see you tomorrow with another quite CAS card...

CTS #45

I'm back with another CAS card! This week's sketch at Cas(e) This Sketch was really fun to use, I might post another take on it as well...

For this card, I've kept it really simple and used a paper from Crate Paper, which I've stamped with a swirly thing in Distress Ink Walnut Stain. My sentiment Grattis (Congratulations in Swedish) is also stamped in Walnut Stain. I punched out two butterflies with my Martha Steward punch and added some bling to them.
What do you think?

Here's the sketch. Isn't it inspiring?

Thanks for stopping by!

Another take on CTS #44

This version is a bit more on the steampunk side of things... I got the idea of drawing an invisible line down the middle of my card, clustering some embellishments on one side and stamping my sentiment on the other. What do you think?

I've used Distress Ink Walnut Stain for both stamping and distressing, a couple of stamps, some film strip ribbon, half a clock and a couple of gears. I really love those gears...

Thanks for stopping by!

CTS #44

I'm really trying to keep up with the CTS challenges, but I seem to be missing the deadlines far too often. Today, though, I'm on time to share and link up my card for the CTS challenge #44.

I basically CASEd the card of Guest Designer Becca. Her card is so simple and elegant! I've used half a doily, some red polkadot washi tape and pearls. The sentiment is in Swedish and means "What would I have done without you?"

Here's the sketch:

I made a couple more cards using this sketch, which I'll be posting over the next few days. Stay tuned!

Thank you for stopping by!

CTS #37

Yes, I've made another one! Yay me! It's really fun to make these cards, but it's not as quick and easy at you might think... I seem to spend a lot of time repositioning things. :)

The flowers are punched out of some scraps of paper from Graphic 45. I've doodled the frame by hand and stamped my sentiment with Distress Ink Mowed Lawn.

You can find the sketch in the gallery over at CAS(E) this sketch.

CTS #38

Another attempt at CAS... CAS stands for Clean And Simple. The really hard core CAS crafters tend to stick to one layer when making their creations, but fortunately, you don't have to. ;)

This card was inspired by CTS #38, which I found in the gallery over at CAS(E) this sketch.

I've used some washi tape and a strip of paper from October Afternoon to create the layers on the sketch. I allowed myself one embellishment, the black and white string, to get a horizontal line in there too. I've left the card without a sentiment, that can be added later, or not... The paper strip is on foam squares, for some extra depth.

CAS(E) this Sketch #39

I'm back! The weather has been awesome, so I haven't really spent any time in my crafty corner... I've been out in the sun, reading, having fun with my friends, generally enjoying my vacation. With only a few precious days left, I've felt the urge to get some crafting in as well.

This card is one of my first real attempts at the CAS style. I find it so challenging! Less is more? I usually go with something like "there can never be too many flowers"...

I found a fun sketch challenge blog to help me get into the CAS state of mind - CAS(E) This Sketch. Boy, do they have inspiring sketches! My card is inspired by sketch #39. I've stamped my stars and sentiment with Distress Ink Picked Raspberry, doodled the frame and little "jump lines" by hand and added some bling. It's so HARD not to go crazy with embellishments!

I'll be back with more stuff, CAS and otherwise. Stay tuned!

You're a STAR!

SOG April Challenge

Sometimes, other family members want to help with my crafting...
This month there's a great new sketch just waiting for us all over at the Some ODD Girl blog! I just had to play along after I'd colored up my pretty little Shy Fairy.

My card was made using paper from Crate, a ribbon, some pearls and the numbers 2 and 8 from American Crafts. I've used Distress Ink - Peacock Feathers for the edges of the papers and the bubbles I've stamped around my image.

My attempts at CAS are getting more and more frequent - do I sense a new style? We'll just have to wait and see.

I've colored the image using the following ProMarkers:
Skin: Ivory, Satin, Putty, Sunkissed Pink
Hair: Pastell Green, Mint Green, Green
Dress: Orchid, Amethyst, Slate and Apple, Leaf Green, Bright Green
Eyes: Cinnamon, Cocoa

I've also used a Sakura glitter pen for the little beads in her hair and a white Signo pen for the highlights in her eyes. The wings are lightly glittered with Frosted Lace Stickles.

Rooting for Griffin

Today's post is about a brave little boy in Aurora, Colorado. His name is Griffin, and in the beginning of May, he will be undergoing a hemispherectomy in an effort to manage his very serious form of epilepsy. My friend Tabbatha of The Zadis Project is Griffin's cousin, and she started this project to cheer Griffin on during  his three month hospital stay.

I made this card for Griffin at the Stockholm Scrap & Pearl Event, and I'm planning to make at least one more to send him at the hospital. If you want to do the same, follow this link or click the purple ribbon in my side bar to get to Tabbatha's blog post with all the details you'll need.
