This past Sunday was Mother's Day in Sweden. I'd decided to make a special card for my mom this year, inspired by all the super cute Some Odd Girl images! With the great variety of images, I thought I could find three that would represent myself and my two sisters, color them and then put them on a card. This was a daunting challenge, I wanted to get my sisters just right, so that it would be obvious which was which.
The first image I colored was my youngest sister, who is a designer and very artistic. She has a specific style and wears black a lot. I used my Ice Grey markers in lots of layers and managed to come pretty close to what I'd had in mind. To get the paint splashes on her without ruining my colored image, I used toothpicks and acrylic paints (see the finished card).
The second image is my other sister, who is a happy, colorful person, always full of energy and eager to do things outdoors. I colored her and her kite in clear, vibrant colors. coloring red is another one of those things I avoid, since the red markers tend to bleed more than the rest.
And here's my finished card. The third image, which is supposed to represent me, is where I just decided to screw it and go back to my comfort zone. So, she has pink hair (I don't) and a bunch of flowers in her hand. =)
The card itself is very simple, I cut out a heart and taped it to my base card, then used a sponge and Distress Ink Milled Lavender to get the soft heart shape. I also used my favorite hexagon stamp from Gummiapan to add some more structure and life to the background.

Bröllopskort i lila

Copic Girl?
Hey ho!
Today, I'd like to share a card with an image that has made me want to switch from ProMarkers to Copics... I got to try out Tabbatha's copics to color this image, and I fell head over heels in love! Copics have always scared me stiff, but when I got to try these (and this brand new gorgeous image from Some Odd Girl) I just reeled at the possibilities! I do use my ProMarkers, can't just put them in a drawer and buy a whole new set of markers, but I'll be buying new Copics when I "need" new markers...
Anyways, cute little Artist Mae is colored up with copics and paired with papers from Maja Design and Prima. I kept my card clean and simple to make sure the pretty image got all the attention it deserved.
Thanks for stopping by! End of term is here, and that means that my focus will be on work rather than posting cards on my blog, but not to worry. I'll be back with a vengeance! :)

Bröllopskort i vintagestil

WOYWW #207
Hi there! Welcome to my little part of cyber space!
I'm doing a quick post today, off on a field trip type thing with colleagues and students. Should be fun, if we can just avoid too much rain... Oh well, at least I'm a sensible grown-up who knows to wear sensible clothes for such occasions. ;)
My desk is a total mess. Wedding card in progress, colored digi image, papers, water bottles, scissors... You name it, I've got it on my desk!
Now that you've seen mine, show us yours! Hop on over to the Stamping Ground, where Julia hosts our fantastic get-togethers, and link up!

Hello, handsome!
Motivet är färglagt med ProMarkers på 4CC-papper.
Tack för titten, kom snart tillbaka!

Celebrate!
Happy Friday! And to some, happy long weekend! Here in Sweden, Ascension Day yesterday means that schools are closed today and I'm really happy with that. Nothing beats a 4-day weekend, right?
Today, I'm sharing a birthday card for the Passion for ProMarkers challenge #197 - Birthdays. As the rule is that every entrant must enter a card with a birthday sentiment, I hope that my card counts, even though the sentiment isn't Happy Birthday but Celebrate. It's still a birthday card... ;)
The image I've used is Happy Gwen from Some Odd Girl, and I've colored her with my ProMarkers. I added lots of different papers from Maja Design's Vintage Summer Basics collection and some embellishments that were sitting around on my desk.
Thank you for stopping by, please come back soon! =)

Some Odd Girl May sketch
I decided to go green... Couldn't resist a splash of orange, but it did turn out very green! Watering Can Tia is a really cute little stamp from Some Odd Girl, and for spring and summer birthdays, she's just great!
I colored up Tia using my ProMarkers and paired her with designer papers from October afternoon. My favorite bubble stamp from Gummiapan has made an appearance too...
This is my entry for the May sketch challenge over at Some Odd Girl. There's plenty of time to play, why don't you join in too?

You're a STAR!

Passion for... Animals!
Hello everyone!
Today, I'm sharing a card for a little girl. I've been trying different things and techniques lately, and something new I've tried on this card is tearing the paper along a ruler instead of cutting it, to get a distressed edge. I really like how it came out, but I don't know if I'd be able to get it as straight without the help of the lines on my crafting mat.
I've used the digi stamp Spring Parade from Some Odd Girl and papers from Crate Paper's Little Bo Peep collection. I've colored my image with ProMarkers and then fussy cut the individual animals and put them on little foam pads to make them pop out from the card.
This card is my entry for the Passion for ProMarkers Challenge #195 - Animals.
Thanks for stopping by, please come back soon!

When the world is overcast, be your own rainbow!
Happy Tuesday!
Today I want to show you what I did with the black tag from last week. I painted it with black gesso and when it had dried, I applied wite gesso though a hexagon mask. I really like the effect!
Anyway, I'd colored the Punk Giraffe from the Octopode Factory the day before, and I just had to start my card even though I really didn't have time for it. I finished it over the weekend, and now I'm entering it for this week's Octopode Factory Friday Challenge. The theme of the challenge is flowers, so I've used flowers to match the rainbow.
I colored the mane of the giraffe the colors of the rainbow, and the rest of him using several grey shades, so it wouldn't take focus away from his pretty mohawk. I chose to cut banners from cardstock that match the colors of the rainbow (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet) and then stick them in at random lengths under the black tag.
Edit: I made Top 3! Woohoo!
I really like this giraffe, with his spiky mohawk and attitude to match! Thanks for stopping by!

Going all orange...
Today I'd like to show you a card that I've made using this week's Sketch Saturday sketch as well as for a challenge over at Some Odd Girl's ning community. The SOG challenge was to use brads on your project. Now, I don't own that many brads, but I discovered that I'd bought some green, yellow, brown and black ones that I'd then just put in a drawer. I'm sure you know how that is...
My card features Flapper Kaylee from Some Odd Girl, colored in ProMarkers. The designer paper comes from Simple Stories and the embellishments are just stuff that was lying around. And the brads. Obviously.
Promarkers used for this card:
Skin: Almond, Satin, Putty
Clothes: Amber, Honeycomb, Pumpkin
Hair: Cinnamon, Cocoa, Chestnut
Eyes: Raw Sienna
I'd like to enter this card for Sketch Saturday's sketch #255.

Wicked Wednesday ATC #80
I'm hooked. I can easily see myself making more ATC's! The pocket-sized format is such a challenge, and at the same time it gives so much more room for trying new stuff and experimenting.
The challenge over at Wicked Wednesdays is Black, White and one other color. I chose purple (my favorite color).
Like last week, I've used an ordinary playing card as a base for my ATC. I've painted my card black (using black gesso). I then stamped with one of my favorite bubble stamps in white on the black card. Some tissue tape, gems, purple and white twine, a silver angel (I'm hoping silver can count as white for this challenge), a rose and a sentiment made with my trusty label maker are what I added.
As I played around with my decorations, I noticed that the gesso was pretty easy to scratch off the card's glossy surface, so I covered up the most obvious scratches afterwards, applying more black gesso with my finger. I like getting a bit messy when I play with my paints! :)
Thanks for stopping by, I hope you'll leave a comment and come back really soon!
Oh, and don't forget my friend Tabbatha's cousin, Griffin. Click the purple ribbon in my side bar to find out how to cheer him up!

Coloring on Kraft
Over at the Some Odd community, the current challenge is to stamp on kraft instead of whichever paper you use regularly. I had a litte card already cut out (spellbinders are so handy for making cards that aren't plain squares!) so I stamped my image on it and dug out my watercolor pencils from the bottom of a drawer.
I started out with my pencils, shading Gwen's dress with a couple of different colors. Then, I went over it all with a water brush to blend the colors together. The rest of my image is colored using only one shade per area, but layering the same shade over and over gives a pretty nice effect too. I've gone over all the areas with my water brush, sometimes more than once.
This was a completely new technique for me, and I really enjoyed working with my pencils. I'll definitely be using them more, alongside my usual ProMarkers!

| Sometimes, other family members want to help with my crafting... |
My card was made using paper from Crate, a ribbon, some pearls and the numbers 2 and 8 from American Crafts. I've used Distress Ink - Peacock Feathers for the edges of the papers and the bubbles I've stamped around my image.
My attempts at CAS are getting more and more frequent - do I sense a new style? We'll just have to wait and see.
I've colored the image using the following ProMarkers:
Skin: Ivory, Satin, Putty, Sunkissed Pink
Hair: Pastell Green, Mint Green, Green
Dress: Orchid, Amethyst, Slate and Apple, Leaf Green, Bright Green
Eyes: Cinnamon, Cocoa
I've also used a Sakura glitter pen for the little beads in her hair and a white Signo pen for the highlights in her eyes. The wings are lightly glittered with Frosted Lace Stickles.

Is it Wednesday already? Can't be! I've been s busy enjoying the fabulous spring weather, I haven't even looked at the calendar... Oh well, might as well let you into my crafty corner, messy as it may be.
I had a brain wave today, and had to get a new project going before I forgot what I wanted to do. Ever done that? Ever forgotten the Best Craft Project Idea Ever? Wholly frustrating, isn't it?
Here's my desk. Gesso, brush, a tag... Another tag, nearly finished... And a spiky little something waiting to be put on the soon-to-be black tag...
The black tag project will be featured here within a day or two, so stay tuned!
Now, fly over to Julia's little place and check in on all the other crafty spaces out there!

Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge #79
I've started making ATC's. It's a real challenge, keeping inside the tiny format of an ATC (I use playing cards as a base for my ATC's) and still being able to fit everything I want into them. Today, I'm playing along at Wicked Wednesday for the first time. Wicked Wednesday is an ATC only challenge blog that I found out about from Tabbatha.
This week's theme is "Show Us Your Suit". My ATC is a playing card that I covered in metal tape and embossed using a Tim Holtz embossing folder. After that, I covered it in black gesso. When the gesso had dried, I sanded it off with my trusty nail file and decorated it.
This is my first real attempt at several new techniques, a new format and a new style. Yikes!
Thanks for stopping by, please come back soon!

Stolta mamman!
